Elegant Rectangles and Romance Papers

This card uses the other half of the elegant rectangle from Friday's card. I added faux stitching round the edge using a black fineliner pen. The big daisy is a die cut from the Craftwork Cards Flower Store and the little daisies are punched from matching card.

Crazy for You

I used a kraft blank for this card and mounted a strip of grey Romance paper on black pearlescent card which was then stuck onto the card blank. The heart was painted with a Raspberry Dabber (Ranger/Tim Holtz) and then I rubbed some red acrylic paint over the top of it using a sponge. Once dry I stuck it to the card blank and added three self-adhesive gems. The card is finished off with a Making Memories rub-on sentiment.

Elegant Rectangles

Earlier in the week I ordered a few bits from Craftwork Cards! They just brought out some 'Romance' papers which are absolutely gorgeous. I also ordered some of their new 'Elegant Rectangles' which are to die for. It is definitely worth taking a look at http://www.craftworkcards.com/

This card was made by cutting a lime coloured Elegant Rectangle in half. The flowers are also from Craftwork Cards and once again I have used Card Candy for the centres. The strip of dotty paper is one of the Romance papers.

Transport ATC

My card group had an ATC swap with the theme of 'Transport' and I chose to use elephants to go on mine. The stamps are all from Paper Artsy and the elephant is cut out and mounted on foam pads to add dimension.

Another ATC

This is another ATC that I made for a swap. I used Distress Inks on pearlescent cardstock and spritzed with water. The dotty background stamp is 'A Field of Sky' by A Stamp in the Hand and the main image is called Queen Anne's Lace but I can't remember who makes this. I printed the definition of 'Botanical onto brown card, cut it out and inkd the edges. The edges of the ATC are also inked.

50th Birthday

This 50th birthday card was made from one of the Craftwork Cards Card Wraps. I used colours from the Richie collection again - they go really well together. I got the idea of sticking the flowers together when I saw Paula Pascual demonstrating at Topaz Crafts.

Easel Card

I really like easel cards - they are easy to make and they look really effective. The flowers are by Hero Arts and are stamped on My Mind's Eye 'Bloom and Grow' papers. The leaves are paper pieced but the flower heads were just stamped, cut out and stuck on. I doodled round the edge of the centre panel with a black fineliner pen.
Once again I used Card Candy along with an oval greeting from Craftwork Cards that is on a scalloped oval punched with a Stampin' Up punch. I also have the Stampin' Up scalloped circle punch and can thoroughly recommend these.

Thank You

I made this little 'Thank You' card using a card wrap from the Richie Collection - I love the colours in this range. The flowers were stuck on overhanging the edge of the card to make it a little different. The scan doesn't show the colours very well - I will try to take a photo in the daylight and upload that instead.

Alphabet ATC - C

This is another of the ATCs I made for a swap in my card group. For the letter 'C' I chose Christmas. The image is by Stampin' Up. I inked round the edges of the ATC with gold Brilliance but this doesn't show up too well on the scan.

Monochrome Flowers

I made this card using Sassy Squiggly Stems by Craftwork Cards and tied gingham ribbon round them to look like leaves. The flowers were cut out using Spellbinders dies and the two outside ones actually overlapped the edge of the card although this doesn't show on the scan. The sentiment is an 'In Circle' from Craftwork Cards.

Craftwork Cards - Ribbon Challenge

I made this card for the Craftwork Cards Ribbon Challenge which was, surprisingly enough, to use ribbon on a card! Take a look at www.craftworkcards.blogspot.com for further details.

Alphabet ATC - E

Another ATC for the Alphabet Swap on my card group - this time I chose 'Eyes'. The stamps are from Paper Artsy and I used some K & Co backing paper. I used Glossy Accents on the eye to add dimension.

Tuesday 19 January 2010

Alphabet ATC - A

This is the ATC that I did for the letter 'A' - I opted for 'Architecture'. I saw an article in a magazine using these stamps and this was where I got the idea from. The stamps are from Paper Artsy and the images are coloured with ProMarkers. The base ATC is actually white and I had to mask the images in order to colour the background.

Card Wrap

This little card is made from a Craftwork Cards card wrap with the bottom cut off. I used a silver mirror card scallop oval also from Craftwork Cards and carefully punched out a small scallop oval, covering the hole with the Colour Me Oval which is coloured using ProMarkers.

ATC - F

This is an ATC that I made for the Alphabet ATC swap on my card group - I decided to do Feathered Friend for 'F'. I used a chalk ink pad to colour a white ATC blank and then overstamped the little flowers using the same pad before stamping the branch in brown. I also inked the edges of the ATC with blue pad. The stamps are all from Craftwork Cards - take a look at their website.

The owl was stamped onto cream card, cut out, coloured with a Pro-Marker and edged with Platinum Stickles. I used foam pads to stick it to the ATC to add a little dimension.

Doodles

Doodling on cards seems to be quite popular at the moment so I decided to have a go! I have drawn round the inside of the flower petals with a fineliner pen and also drew spots on the Card Candy. This card actually looks better in real life - the scan makes the card blank look white but it is actually pearlescent cream.

Best of British Again

I really like the Best of British papers by Craftwork Cards. I used Nestabilities dies to cut the frame and black spotted background, and added glitter glue to the Card Candy in the centre of the flowers although this doesn't show up very well. Originally there was only one butterfly but I had to add another as a certain black and white cat left a paw print on the card!!

Craftwork Cards - Blog Challenge

Take a look at http://www.craftworkcards.blogspot.com/ They are running a challenge where you make a card using their Card Candy and the winning entry gets a Candy Store. This is the card that I have made to send in but I'm not eligible for the prize as I am a member of the design team.

I tried to photograph this rather than scan it as in real life the butterflies' wings are lifted up from the card but the photos came out badly so I had to scan instead and now the wings look flat!

Happy Birthday

Yet another small square card but this time with a butterfly on it - my Martha Stewart punch arrived this morning and I love it! Papers are My Mind's Eye, I used a Stampin' Up punch for the scallop circle, the sentiment is by Craftwork Cards as is the Card Candy.

Tuesday 12 January 2010

Well Done

Here is another small square card made from My Mind's Eye 'Bloom and Grow' papers. The daisy is from Craftwork Cards and I embossed it using the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls embossing folder. I used Card Candy in the centre of the flower - it is effective and easy to use.
I ordered 3 Martha Stewart punches last week and am waiting for them to arrive. The one I am most excited about is a butterfly punch. I received a couple of cards with punched butterflies on them and just had to order one of the punches for myself!!

With Love

This card is very similar to the one I posted yesterday but I have used a different type of daisy which I put embossed using the Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls embossing folder. Papers again are by My Mind's Eye.

Thinking of You

This was made using a small square card from Craftwork cards. The backing paper is by My Mind's Eye (Asparagus) and the flower and greeting are from Craftwork Cards. I punched the scalloped oval in card which matches the flower and finished it off with a piece of Card Candy from my Candy Store.

Richie Collection

This birthday card is made using items in the Richie collection from Craftwork Cards. I used my Nestabilities dies to cut the frame and the dotted background. Unfortunately the scan is a little uneven and doesn't show the colours too well.

Friday 8 January 2010

Cupcakes

The background paper on this card is one of the Yummy Scrummy papers from Craftwork Cards. The embossed border, greeting and scallop circle are also from Craftwork Cards. The stamp is from the Crazy for Cupcakes set by Stampin' Up and I coloured the image using Promarkers. I love the combination of pale blue and the background paper.

Thursday 7 January 2010

Best of British

I used Best of British papers by Craftwork Cards to make this birthday card. These papers are really stunning as they are actually pearlescent - the photo doesn't do them justice.

The scalloped circle, the greeting and the flowers are also by Craftwork Cards, and the centres of the flowers are Card Candy.

I stuck the smaller flowers on so that they overhung the edge and then trimmed off the excess to make the card a little different.

Folded Mini Book

I first made one of these on a workshop with Julie Hickey in December. Although it took quite a while I enjoyed making it and also made a couple more as Christmas cards. This is for a swap on my card group - one of the regular monthly swaps is a 141 where you make one card and receive one back.

Everything I used is from Craftwork Cards except the ribbon. I used Copic makers to colour the flowers on the bird and on the butterfly.

Alphabet ATCs - H

This is an ATC that I have made for a swap on my card group. We are working through the alphabet month by month and have got as far as 'H'. I struggled to chose a theme for this - hearts was the only thing I could come up with. Heaven knows what I am going to do for 'I'.

The border stamp and the heart stamp are both by Blonde Moments, and the dotty background is 'A Field of Sky' by A Stamp in the Hand. I used pearlescent card from Craftwork Cards and some of their Card Candy.

Take a look at http://www.craftworkcards.com/ if you like the Card Candy as you can now buy a 'Candy Store' which is a fabulous storage box containing 13 mini boxes of Card Candy.

Happy New Year

As it is the beginning of a new year I decided that now is as good a time as any to start posting on my blog. It has been sitting around for months with no posts on it.

For the first time ever I have made some Happy New Year cards after having been inspired by Julie Hickey (and I even decorated the insides). This is one which I made for someone who is a good friend and has been very supportive over the past few months - you know who you are!
